American Elm is a majestic native shade tree known for its tall trunk, graceful arching branches, and broad, vase-shaped canopy. Once widely planted along American streets and in parks, this impressive tree creates generous shade and provides valuable habitat for birds and other wildlife.

American Elm grows rapidly when young and adapts to a variety of soil and moisture conditions. Its dark green, toothed leaves provide dense summer shade before developing soft yellow fall color. This is a very large tree that should be planted where it has plenty of room to reach maturity.
